Christian Mission South Haiti

CMSH was founded in 1990 at the Louisville, Kentucky, College of the Scriptures.  At that time, a young Haitian, Jean Alix Lusma, answered God’s call to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people living in the largely unreached southern part of the nation.  This mission is nonprofit.

Mission Statement:

1-      We are responding to the call of Jesus Christ in Mathew 28: 19-20: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  We also want to be obedient to Mark 16: 15-16 which reads: “He said to them, ‘Go into the entire world and preach the good news to all creation.  Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.’”

2-      It is our intent to preach the good news of Jesus Christ to all creation and save them into the Kingdom of Christ.  John 13: 34 instruct us: “A new command I give you: Love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

3-      We must live the Christian life before others as an example from Christ Himself to this world.

4-      We will partner with people who believe in Jesus Christ as their savior.

The Continuing Goals of CMSH are to:

1- Train Haitian evangelists for the work that they do for the mission.

2-Build church buildings in the areas where churches are established.  This is accomplished in different ways: some church buildings are built by short term mission teams from the states; others, by national work teams with funds donated to buy materials.

3-Provide education for Haitians, especially children, in our local congregations, and create schools for very poor children in remote areas.

4-Continue to support orphaned and homeless children, providing meals, clothing, education, and basic medical care.

5-Establish Bible schools for CMSH pastors and recruit more students into this program.

CMSH works to help Haitians achieve a better life through education, vocational training, and Christian life modeling.  Those who partner with us financially are actually involved in this incremental process, and we appreciate the prayers of all who have a heart for this mission, whether or not they are able to give financially.  It is our intention to feed not only the body, but also the soul and in this way, introduce those who hunger to our Savior, Jesus Christ.
